The LIT Design Awards has been created by Farmani Group to recognise the efforts of talented international lighting product designers and lighting implementers. LIT is open to submissions from lighting manufacturers, designers and practices from around the world.
The competition has Professional and Emerging categories for both lighting products and lighting designers, with several niche subcategories.
Farmani is the organiser of the International Design Awards (IDA), the Prix de la Photographie in Paris, the London International Creative Awards, and the Lucie Awards for Photography. Say the organisers: “We believe that lighting is an art and a science, and it is one of the most important elements of design. LIT was envisioned to celebrate the creativity and innovation in the fields of lighting products and application.”
LIT – Light in Theory – derives from the theory of light on an abstract, more encompassing level. The awards seek to draw attention to lighting, designers, and the theory of light that keeps our homes and communities lit.
Selected by an impressive jury of leaders in the lighting, interior design and architectural fields, the Professional winners for Lighting Designer of the Year and Lighting Product of the Year will receive the LIT trophy plus extensive publicity showcasing their designs and products to an international audience.
The Emerging category is for students and prizes of $1,000 plus trophy and promotion will go to the Emerging Lighting Designer of the Year and Emerging Lighting Product of the Year
