IALD Chase the Dark 2017 set for 9 November

Each year, the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) promotes ‘Chase the Dark’ – an international lighting movement that tasks participants to photograph and share displays of light via social media during a 24 hour period as the sun sets westward across the globe. The results capture the creativity and diversity of the lighting design profession.

This year’s lighting concept is simple – Shape Light! IALD challenges participants to play with EL wire, a versatile battery-powered and multi-coloured electroluminescent wire. Pick up your own EL wire from Amazon or another online retailer (or try Dragon Mart in Dubai); fix it to street furniture, industrial objects, bicycles, or even yourselves; make a short video or take pictures after dusk; and share them on social media using the hashtag #IALDChaseDark.

Both members and non-members can take part. More information here.
