The 9th edition of the Middle East Smart Lighting and Energy Summit will be held on 20-21 April 2020 at Sofitel Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa. Across two days, over 40 international and regional lighting experts will discuss the use of smart lighting systems and the latest lighting strategies that play a pivotal role in building smart cities.
Organized by Expotrade Global, the conference will host more than 300 senior lighting experts, urban planners, sustainability experts, and engineering consultants.
Those confirmed to speak at the conference include Christopher Hayward, Deputy Chairman of the City of London’s Planning and Transportation Committee; Ian Dryden, Principal – Industrial Design, City of Melbourne; Jemma Greene, Chief Innovation Officer, City of Canning, Perth, Australia; and Ilpo Laitinen, Director of Administration for City Construction & Infrastructure at the City of Helsinki.
Over the two days, the conference agenda will feature topics on solar energy boosting sustainability in the UAE, the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030, public realm lighting solutions and strategies, energy-efficient lighting retrofits, and smart city lighting strategies.
There will be five panel discussions on topics focusing on government’s role in efficiently lighting the public realm, the role of MEPs in building cities of the future, how placemaking and lighting design is changing urban life for the better, integrating retrofits and technology for lighting the public realm, and the importance of operation & maintenance (O&M) for mega infrastructure projects.
