The newest version of the Energi Savr Node control module from Lutron Electronics is the world’s first lighting control product to pass the latest and more stringent DALI-2 certification process.
DALI-2 certification brings the promise of significantly improved interoperability as well as additional functionality compared with current DALI (version 1) systems in the market.
The DALI-2 standard is the next generation of the Digital Addressable Lighting Interface protocol for controlling lighting, managed by the Digital Illumination Interface Alliance (DiiA) global consortium of lighting businesses.
Dr Scott Wade, Technical & Certification Manager at DiiA, said: “The launch of the first DALI-2-certified control device is a major milestone for DALI. This will be the first of many next-generation products that will bring the benefits of the new DALI-2 standard to lighting specifiers and users around the world.”
The Lutron Energi Savr Node is a smart module for controlling lighting in commercial spaces. It can be used on its own or as part of the Lutron Quantum total light management system to control everything from a single building to an entire campus.
David Ribbons, Director of Sales for Europe and Africa at Lutron Electronics, said: “The launch of the world’s first certified DALI-2 control solution underlines Lutron’s commitment to provide customers with products and technologies that will simplify the specification process. With the new certified DALI-2 Energi Savr Node, customers can for the first time specify an independently verified DALI control solution, giving them confidence that it will operate seamlessly with other certified DALI-2 products.”
