Signify has acquired two animal-centric lighting business, in order as it says “to capture attractive growth in agricultural lighting”.
The two new members of the Signify portfolio are Once Inc, based in Plymouth, Minnesota, and its German subsidiary iLox, based in Vechta. These companies are regarded as market leaders in the design and manufacturing of animal-centric lighting, producing tailor-made lighting systems that improve the quality of life for livestock leading in turn to healthier animals and enhanced production for the farmer.
“With this acquisition, we add know-how, technology and expertise in animal lighting that complements ours in horticulture lighting,” said Bill Bien, Business Leader Agriculture at Signify. “This next step in the development of our Agriculture Business addresses the global need for feeding the world’s growing population, further unlocking the potential of light for brighter lives and a better world.”
Once Inc, founded in 2009, had acquired iLox in 2018.
No financial details about the transactions were disclosed.
